Most punters thought this was an autumn beer until she turned up. This is our tribute to The Stranglers, the song Golden Brown containing the lyric ‘tied to the mast’. I never asked Sydney how he came up with the illustration but it was a lot easier than drawing camels and pyramids the other idea based on the video. The name was changed to Gordon Brown for a short while after the then chancellor reduced the duty levied on small brewers. A slightly less saucy version was produced in a vain attempt to get her on some supermarket shelves.
